Back in 2019 I dropped $400 on a fancy programmable thermostat thinking it was a splurge, but it ended up cutting my winter heating bill by almost a third.

Has anyone else found a gadget that seemed expensive upfront but actually paid for itself faster than you expected?

Oh man, totally. I grabbed one of those fancy robotic vacuum cleaners on a whim a couple years back and it felt like throwing money away at first. But that thing saves me so much time on cleaning that I actually feel like I got my money's worth in like six months.

@the_lee my buddy got one and his cat rides it around the house now, worth every penny just for that.

Bought a $200 air fryer that saved me mad cash not eating takeout.
