Had a conversation with a cashier at my local grocery store yesterday that stuck with me
There's this older lady who works checkout at the Food Lion near my apartment. She saw me buy frozen veggies and asked why I don't buy fresh ones on sale instead. She told me she saves about $30 a month just by planning her dinners around what's marked down that week. It really got me thinking about how I walk in without a plan most of the time and grab whatever. Has anyone else learned a simple trick like that from someone in the checkout line?

@rowan_thomas84 I can see that being pretty realistic if you're cooking for yourself. Small changes like that really add up over time, even if it's not huge savings. The main thing for me was just realizing how much I was wasting before.

$30 a month is a stretch unless you're feeding like one person.

Honestly @rowan_thomas84 I used to agree with you. I thought $30 was nothing, but then I actually tracked what I was throwing out and yeah, it added up quick. One person here and I cut about $25 just by not buying stuff I never ate.
