I finally cut my grocery bill by meal prepping on Sundays.

It took a few weeks to get the routine down, but now I save over $100 a month. Does anyone have favorite cheap recipes to share?

Wonder if you ever get sick of eating the same thing all week though. I tried the big batch thing and ended up wasting food because I got tired of chili by Wednesday. How do you keep it from feeling like you're just eating leftovers for days on end?

Honestly, the chili thing is real. I started making a plain base like shredded chicken or rice and changing up the sauce or toppings each day so it feels different.

My sister tried that base method and still ended up with three pounds of chicken she couldn't look at by Friday. It all just tastes like the same sad meal after a while.

Yeah, it's such a game changer once you get past that initial hassle of figuring it out. I read somewhere that soups and stews are the best for batch cooking because they freeze so well and the ingredients are usually cheap. A big pot of lentil soup or chili can last forever. What kind of meals have you been making so far?
