I found out my streaming subscriptions cost more than my grocery bill last month

I sat down and added up everything I pay for Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, and a couple others. It came to $87 a month, which is wild because my grocery budget for one person is only $75. I saw this breakdown on a personal finance blog called The Penny Hoarder and it made me realize I was bleeding cash without even thinking. So I canceled two of them and now I rotate which ones I keep active. Has anyone else tallied theirs up and gotten a shock?

Laughed out loud when I saw this because I did the SAME thing last month and felt gut punched. My grocery bill came to $68 but my streaming was sitting at $92. I seriously considered just canceling everything and eating out more since it seemed cheaper, but that's just pure laziness talking. Now I only keep two going at a time and cancel the rest, feels SO much better not wasting money on stuff I barely watch.

Right? Pretty funny when you realize you're paying more to watch people pretend to live than you are to actually, you know, live. At least the two you kept are probably the ones you actually watch, not just the ones you forgot to cancel.

Honestly man, the real kicker is that you probably still spend two hours scrolling through the apps before you actually pick something. Netflix alone has like 40 screens of stuff you don't care about. I did the math once and realized my "streaming budget" was basically a donation to corporations so I could rewatch The Office for the 12th time. Keeping just two at a time is the only way to go, anything more and you're just paying for guilt.
