Just realized the 'cash envelope' thing actually works for my grocery spending

I was sure it was too simple, but putting $150 in an envelope for the week stopped me from overspending at the store by about $20. Has anyone else had luck with a specific category using this method?

Honestly, I should try that for takeout. My wallet is basically a food delivery app's best friend (which is a problem).

Ever feel like you're just paying for the convenience? I get that, and I totally see where mark_carr7 is coming from. My bank statement last month was basically just a list of delivery fees and tips. It's so easy to just tap a button when you're tired, but it adds up fast.
