Just saw a chart showing the average person spends $150 a month on subscriptions they forget about
Found it in a finance blog's yearly spending roundup. How many subscriptions are you actually keeping track of?

Wow, that number is honestly terrifying. I bet a huge chunk of that is from free trials that auto-renew without a clear reminder. Makes you wonder if these companies design it to be easy to forget.

How many people even check their bank statements these days?

My buddy runs a small marketing business and he used to swear by free trials for building his client list. But after he got hit with a $2,000 charge from a software he forgot to cancel, he completely changed his tune. I used to think people just needed to be more careful with their subscriptions, like set a calendar reminder or something. But honestly, seeing that number made me realize these companies are counting on you to forget. They bury the cancellation link, they don't send a warning email, and the auto-renew is set to happen right when your card gets charged again. It's shady as hell, and yeah, it's by design.

Wait, it's that high? They must be counting on people not paying attention.
