My $40 coffee maker choice saved my whole month

I had to pick between a fancy new espresso machine for $300 or just fixing my old drip pot for $40. I fixed the old one and put the $260 in my car fund. Has anyone else skipped a big buy for a small fix that felt huge?

My old washing machine was leaking and I spent $15 on a new hose instead of dropping $600 on a new one. That simple fix let me put the rest toward a new transmission for my truck.

That "car fund" part is smart. I always forget how much those small savings add up over time. It's like finding money you already had.

@the_alice, do you have a set amount you move to that fund each month, or is it more of a leftover thing?

Totally get that, @the_alice! Those small wins really do change your whole mindset.
