My barista friend gave me a tip that saved me $60 a month

I was at the coffee shop near my apartment last Tuesday, and my friend Mark was working. I told him I was trying to cut back, and he said, 'You know, you could just ask for a large drip coffee and a small cup of ice on the side.' I started doing that instead of buying iced lattes. It tastes almost the same and costs way less. Has anyone else found a simple swap like this that adds up?

Wow, that's basically a free hack!

So what exactly makes it a free hack, @sage_green? Like, is it because you don't need special tools or it just saves a ton of time? I'm trying to picture the actual steps you'd take to make it work.

Yeah, it's free because you're using stuff you already have. Like if the hack is using a binder clip to hold a cord, you didn't buy a special cord holder. The steps are usually just seeing a common problem and using a common object in a different way to fix it. No money spent, no new tools needed. It's just being clever with what's lying around.
