My budget actually improved after I canceled all my streaming services

I got tired of all the monthly charges and cut them out cold turkey. Now I have an extra hundred bucks, but I'm bored out of my mind some nights. What do you guys do for cheap entertainment now?

a hundred bucks is nice but being bored every night sounds rough. that trade off might not be worth it for some people.

When I cut my streaming services last spring, I saved around $80 a month. I totally get the boredom, those quiet nights felt endless at first. My fix was hitting up the public library, which sounds old school but they have free DVDs and video games you can borrow. That led me to finally read the book series my friend kept pushing on me, and it was actually good. I also got back into simple stuff like cooking new recipes from online, which kills time and makes dinner fun. It took a minute to find a groove, but now I look forward to my cheap nights in.

Tried the library thing once, but I returned the books three months late and owed more than my streaming bill.

My buddy Mark tried cutting streaming and got so bored he started watching those weird late night infomercials. He ended up calling one of those 1-800 numbers for a knife set at 2am, which is how he spent his savings in one go. He says the knives are actually decent though. What's the weirdest thing you've done to kill time without streaming?
