I spent three evenings in January building a grocery price comparison sheet for our weekly dinners, but the formulas kept double counting sale items and my totals were off by $40 every time. It wasn't until I sat down with a pencil and paper for an hour that I realized the problem was how I grouped store brands, not the math itself. Has anyone else had a budget tool turn into a bigger time sink than the actual savings it delivers?
