I kept seeing the free bike fix-up stand at the community center. It hit me that tuning up my old bike meant less gas money and fewer repair bills. What small local things have helped your budget without much effort?

You know about tool libraries? My friend borrowed a pressure washer from ours and saved a ton on his big deck project.

Hold on, your friend really did a whole deck project just with a borrowed pressure washer? That cuts out like the biggest cost for that job. It never clicked for me that those free resources could cover major work. I figured it was just for small fixes around the house. The idea that you can basically get a professional clean for free is kind of blowing my mind a little. Those small local things are way bigger deals than they seem at first.

Shocked that tool libraries loan out big stuff like pressure washers. That's way more handy than I thought. Might check if my town has one now.
