Question about the new food hall prices in Austin

I went to that new food hall downtown last weekend and a basic burger with fries was $22, which felt insane for a casual lunch spot. Everyone online seems to think it's a cool place to hang out, but I can't get past how much they charge for simple stuff. Has anyone else found a good spot there that's actually worth the money?

Try the ramen place in the back corner.

Funny you mention that spot. I've noticed the best food in any mall or food court is always tucked away in the back corner. It's like they're hiding the good stuff on purpose. The front spots go to the flashy chains that can pay more, but the real gems are in the back where rent is cheaper. Makes you wonder what else we miss by just going to the first place we see. That ramen place probably survives on word of mouth alone.

Totally! It's like a secret club for people who bother to look past the first row. I bet half the mall walkers have no idea what they're missing back there.

Oh, the ramen place is decent but it's not actually in the food hall. It's in the little strip mall across the street behind the parking garage. I made that same mistake and walked around the food hall for ten minutes looking for a back corner that doesn't exist. The soup itself is good, $13 for a bowl which is reasonable, but you have to go outside and cross the driveway to get there.
