Question about when a budget week goes perfectly versus when it totally falls apart
Last Tuesday I had a morning where every estimate I gave came in under budget, got three new clients, and still made it home for dinner. Then Thursday hit, my truck broke down outside Portland, the tow cost $400, and I had to cancel two jobs. Which feels more real to you, the perfect day or the disaster, and do you plan for both?

Honestly, the disaster feels more real because that's the one you remember and fix.

Real life is just one version of the story though. The past doesn't have a concrete edit button, but memory does. We get to pick and choose what we carry with us, and that's what actually shapes how we move forward. The raw, messy thing that happened isn't nearly as powerful as the cleaned up version we tell ourselves about it. Lol it's like we're all just running our own personal patch notes on our life experiences. Makes you wonder how many people are stuck because they can't rewrite their own memory of a disaster.

Last year I stopped letting a bad breakup define me by just rewriting how I saw it every morning.
