Realized I was throwing away $60 a month on unused subscriptions

I was scrolling through my bank statements and spotted charges for two streaming services and a gym I hadn't used in over 4 months. That was about $720 a year just gone. Anyone else dig into their old statements and get surprised by stuff they forgot about?

Yeah I went through this last year. Found out I was paying for a cloud storage backup I hadn't touched since 2021. Now I do a sweep every three months and kill anything I haven't clicked on in a while.

The quarterly purge has been a lifesaver for me too. I set a calendar reminder and just blast through subscriptions that aren't earning their keep. It's wild how many of those monthly fees you forget about until the money's already gone.

Oh man, that really hits home... it's like all those little automatic payments just quietly bleed you dry without you even noticing. I've started noticing the same pattern with other stuff too, like that gym membership you're still paying for even though you stopped going months ago, or that streaming service you only use for one show. It's funny how we let these things just run on autopilot until we finally wake up and do something about it.
