Seeing everyone bike to work made me rethink my car costs.

Now I save over $200 a month on gas and parking.

But what about bad weather?

Used to think bad weather was a full stop for my bike commute. I'd delay trips or waste money on cabs just to stay dry. Your point about the trade-off actually made sense to me. Tried it last week, got pretty wet but saved cash and felt fine after changing clothes.

What do you consider bad weather anyway? I've shown up to work absolutely soaked through my jacket looking like a drowned cat, but my bank account looks a lot better. It's a pretty fair trade off for me, the extra laundry is still cheaper than a tank of gas. I just keep a change of clothes at work and embrace the whole damp look.

Wait, you only keep one change of clothes at work? That's a wild gamble with the weather. You'd need at least a full backup set for those real soaker days.
