Spent $85 on a grocery app subscription that was supposed to cut my bill
I got talked into a $7 a month app called MealMap that was supposed to plan cheap dinners and it ate $85 before I cancelled. The meal plans kept sending me to Whole Foods for stuff like $9 tahini when I live right by a Food Lion. I did the math on my bank app and my grocery spend went up $60 that first month, not down. What apps or services have actually dropped your bill instead of just rearranging it?
Ugh that tahini thing would drive me nuts, those apps always assume you shop at fancy stores. My sister had the same issue with a recipe box service that kept pushing saffron and weird oils, so she just started swapping everything for the cheap version at her regular store. Turns out the meal ideas were fine, it was the shopping list that was the problem.
