Stop buying those cheap phone charging cables at gas stations

I spent $18 at a Shell station in Austin last month on a cable that stopped working after 3 days. The same $8 Anker cable from Amazon would have lasted me a year easy. How many of us are throwing money at convenience stores for stuff that breaks immediately?

Grab yourself one of those braided nylon cables from Anker instead. I've had the same one for almost two years now and it still works perfectly, even after getting tossed in my bag and stepped on a few times. They're like $12 on Amazon and way better than anything you'll find at a gas station. Just make sure you get one that's at least 3 feet long so you're not stuck hunched over an outlet.

Yeah those Anker braided cables are solid but I think you meant they usually come in 3 foot and 6 foot lengths. The 3 foot ones are good for desks or nightstands but if you're plugging into a wall outlet behind furniture you'll want the 6 foot for sure. I grabbed a 10 foot one by accident once and it was way too much cable to deal with, just ended up in a tangled mess in my bag. The braided nylon does hold up though, my last one finally gave out after about 3 years when the connector started getting loose.

Get a magnetic one too, saves the port from wear and tear.
