The envelope trick that finally stopped my grocery overspending
I kept blowing my grocery budget every month until I started pulling out $250 in cash each week and leaving my cards at home. It sounds old-school but I actually spent $40 less last month just by feeling the money leave my hand. Has anyone else tried cash-only for a category and seen it work?

Did you try lighting the cash on fire for that authentic broke feeling?

wait hold on, you pulled out $250 in cash every week? that's like a thousand bucks a month on groceries alone. i mean i get the cash thing is supposed to hurt more but $250 a week for one person seems like a lot unless you're feeding a whole family lol. the envelope method is smart though, i tried it once for eating out and it actually worked until i forgot the envelope at home and panic-bought a pizza with my phone. but honestly i think the real magic is just having to watch the cash disappear versus swiping a card. i bet if i did that for my random amazon purchases i'd save a fortune.

Nah, that cash trick would just have me broke AND staring at an empty pizza box lol.
