Three years of tracking every dollar finally paid off for one big purchase

I started using a budgeting app about 3 years ago after I realized I had no idea where my money was going. Last month, I finally had enough saved to replace my old washing machine that was making weird noises for over a year. The total was $850 cash and it felt way better than putting it on a credit card and forgetting about it. Sure, it took way longer than I wanted, but I didn't have to stress about the bill coming in later. Has anyone else had that moment where being patient with your budget actually made a big purchase feel less scary?
