Watched my washing machine die mid-cycle and saved $80 on the repair

The drum just stopped spinning on Tuesday with a load of my work jeans still soaking wet. Called a repair guy who quoted me $150 just to look at it, so I watched a YouTube video from a guy in Phoenix and fixed the belt myself for $12 at Ace Hardware. Took me like 2 hours and I broke a fingernail prying the panel off but hey, that's a win for the wallet. Anyone else gotten brave with appliance repairs and had it actually work out? lol

I read somewhere that most washing machine repairs are just belts or lids that pop off, so you probably got it right. Some of those YouTube guys really know their stuff.

Read that dishwashers are actually pretty easy to fix yourself too if you watch the right videos.

My buddy tried fixing his dishwasher from a YouTube video and ended up flooding his kitchen, so maybe not that easy.
