Went back to my old grocery store lot and saw my budget differently

I went back to the supermarket where I shopped when I first moved here, the one with the giant cart corral out back. Back then I used to circle the lot 3 times to find the cart with the good wheel, and I never thought about the gas I burned doing that. Now I walk from my apartment and grab the first cart I see, mostly because I pay attention to my weekly spending instead of my wheels. Added up, I figure I saved about $35 a month on gas and impulse buys near the entrance. It sounds silly, but seeing that same lot made me realize how much my habits shifted once I started tracking every dollar. Has anyone else revisited an old spot and noticed a budget win they didn't expect to find?
