Can we talk about how people treat bullet journaling like an art project?
I saw a setup on Instagram with 15 different colored pens and a dozen washi tapes, which completely misses the point of rapid logging. What's the most complicated spread you've actually stuck with for a full month?

Is not doing a fancy spread really that deep of a betrayal to the bullet journal gods? Some people just like the artsy stuff, and if it keeps them consistent then whatever works. @henryp40 has a point about redrawing stuff each week though, that sounds like a pain.

Rapid logging" is the key phrase there. My most functional spread is just a two page monthly calendar with a basic task list. What's the actual point of those decorative weekly pages if you have to redraw them every Sunday?

Exactly, henryp40 gets it. My most useful spread is a messy daily log where I just scribble tasks with a single pen. I tried one of those fancy mood trackers with a hand drawn flower for each day, but coloring in a petal felt like a chore by week two. The whole thing became a guilt trip about my bad art skills, not my actual mood. Now my journal is just fast notes that help me get through the week.
