DAE remember when bullet journal spreads were all about perfect calligraphy and complex trackers?

I switched to a simple pencil and a single notebook for everything after my watercolor pen bled through three pages during a work trip to Chicago last fall, so what's one basic tool you can't journal without now?

Nah, the "no-nonsense vibe" thing doesn't track for me. A good pen is a tool that works hard, same as anything else. My nice one never felt out of place, it just made writing stuff down less of a chore. Giving up on it feels like settling. The city didn't kill the phase, maybe the phase just wasn't right to begin with.
