I dropped $40 on a stencil set for weekly spreads and it was a total waste

I thought it would make my layouts faster, but lining it up perfectly each time took longer than just drawing the boxes freehand. Has anyone found a tool that actually speeds up the weekly setup?

Forty bucks for a stencil is wild. It's just boxes on paper. My setup takes five minutes with a ruler. Maybe the goal is to overcomplicate a simple thing.

Yeah but that "five minutes with a ruler" adds up every single time. I'd pay to skip that hassle forever.

Just boxes on paper" misses the point. Like @the_jana said, it's about buying back your time. That five-minute task feels a lot different after the hundredth time.
