My $75 Leuchtturm1917 just fell apart after 4 months of use

The spine completely detached and pages started falling out mid-week, which is crazy for a notebook everyone swears by. Anyone else have their expensive bullet journal staple fail on them or am I just unlucky with this one?

So you dropped 75 bucks and it fell apart in four months? That's rough, I get the frustration. I used to swear by those fancy notebooks too until I had the same thing happen with a different brand. What worked for me was switching to a cheaper spiral notebook and just putting a little duct tape on the inside spine where it bends a lot. Honestly, it holds up way better and I don't feel bad when it gets beat up in my bag.

Did you put the tape on before it started falling apart, or was it more of a repair job after the fact? I've tried reinforcing stuff ahead of time but I always feel like I'm overthinking it. The whole "don't feel bad when it gets beat up" part is actually the biggest draw for me. Might have to try this with a cheap notebook from the drugstore and see how long it lasts.
