My bullet journal fell apart at a coffee shop in Denver last Saturday
I was sitting at a little place on Colfax reviewing my weekly spread when the spine just gave out and pages went everywhere. Has anyone tried that discbound system as a replacement for a traditional bound journal?

Oh man, discbound is overrated. I had one for about two months and hated how the discs dig into your wrist when you're writing on the left page. Plus the rings pop open at the worst times, like in a crowded coffee shop. Stick with a good stitch-bound notebook and just reinforce the spine with some duct tape.

Man, you just nailed the exact reason I gave up on mine too. That left page writing is brutal, I swear the discs leave a permanent dent in your forearm after a while. And yeah, the popping open thing, I had that happen in a meeting once and my pages went everywhere like confetti, super embarrassing. Duct tape on a stitch-bound is honestly more reliable than any of that fancy hardware I've tried. Plus, you can't really throw a discbound in a backpack without worrying about the covers bending and the discs warping. My old spiral notebook with a reinforced spine lasted me three years of daily abuse, so I'm with you on going back to basics.
