My bullet journal meal plan kept falling apart until I switched up my routine.

I kept skipping updates, but now I set a daily reminder. What tricks do you use to stay consistent with meal planning in your bujo?

Have you tried planning your meals for the whole week at once? I used to do daily updates too, but it became a chore. Now I block out time on Sundays to plan all my dinners and lunches. In my bullet journal, I use a separate weekly meal grid that I fill out once. This way, I only need to check it when I'm cooking or shopping. A weekly reminder might be less pressure than daily.

My fridge has those alphabet magnets I use for a loose dinner idea list. Planning a whole week feels like setting myself up to fail because my energy levels change so much day to day. If I plan salmon on Thursday but I'm wiped out, I'll just order pizza and feel bad about wasting food. The daily check-in makes me actually look at what I have and what I feel like making that night. For me, that little daily task keeps cooking from feeling like a rigid chore. I probably cook more often this way because it bends to my real life.

My kitchen whiteboard has a running list of five easy meals I can make with pantry staples. I tried the full week plan last January and ended up wasting more groceries than ever because my motivation never matched the schedule. Now I just pick from that short list each morning based on how tired I am from work. This loose system cuts down on guilt and actually gets me to use the chicken in the fridge instead of calling for takeout.

Oh, so we're just supposed to have the same energy level every Thursday as we did on optimistic Sunday? My detailed plan for a fancy stir-fry always meets the reality of a Wednesday where I can barely boil pasta. The real trick is admitting that some nights dinner is just crackers and cheese, and that's a valid bullet journal entry.
