My favorite fountain pen leaked all over my monthly log last Tuesday.

It was a Pilot Metropolitan with Noodler's Black ink, and I had to carefully blot the pages and rewrite the whole week in pencil, which got me thinking about what pens you all trust not to fail like that?

I used to think all pens were safe, but "rewrite the whole week in pencil" is a nightmare that made me switch to ballpoints.

Wasn't there a whole article about why some teachers are so strict about pencils? I remember reading it was partly about kids not being prepared and partly about stopping them from using pens to mess up school books. Honestly, collecting that many just means half the class wasn't listening. It seems like a weird power trip more than a real lesson.
