My sister said to stop trying to draw perfect weekly spreads and just use a basic list, and after a month of frustration, my journal is finally useful.
She saw me redoing the same spread for the fourth time and said, 'It's a tool, not art,' so I switched to a simple running task list with checkboxes and have kept it up for 6 weeks straight.

Ugh YES. Your sister is a genius. I was stuck in that same trap for ages, making everything look pretty but never actually USING the thing. It's a tool, not art, is the perfect way to put it. The second I stopped trying to make it perfect, my to-do list actually got done. Simple just works.

Yeah but is it really that deep? @the_elliot's ugly list works fine because lists are just lists. As long as you can read it, who cares what it looks like. People stress way too much about this stuff.

But beauty makes the tool a joy to use.
