Showerthought: The stationery aisle at my local Target is a bullet journal mood board now
I was in the Target on 5th Street yesterday, and the whole planner section was just spreads of trackers and weekly logs, not the old pre-printed calendars. It made me realize how mainstream the system has become. Do you think this kind of commercial visibility helps or hurts the original DIY spirit of bullet journaling?

Ever notice how everything starts cool and homemade, then gets turned into a product? Feels like the point gets lost when it's all pre-made.

Totally, it loses the personal touch (and the fun).

My grandma's old cookie recipe has a note that says "add a little extra cinnamon if it feels right." You can't put that in a factory box. Wade's right about the whole pre-made thing, it strips out those small choices that make something yours. The process becomes just following steps instead of making decisions. You end up with a thing, but not your thing. The fun was in the tweaking.

Remember when I thought making things easier was always better? Wade's point about stuff going from homemade to pre-made really hit me... you just lose the soul of the thing when it's all packaged up.
