Spent two hours trying to get my monthly calendar to line up straight

I was setting up my March spread and decided to draw the grid freehand instead of using a ruler. It looked fine at first, but when I went to fill in the dates, the whole thing was tilted. I had to carefully erase and redraw the lines three times before it was right. Has anyone found a good, quick way to check if your lines are square before you ink them in?

vera_robinson36 is so right about flipping it. I see this everywhere now, like when you step back from a picture frame you're hanging. Your brain just accepts it until you change the angle. It's wild how our eyes trick us into thinking something is straight when it's actually a total mess.

Just turn the page upside down, your brain will spot the wonky lines instantly.

My friend Sarah tried that trick with her painting last week. She flipped the canvas over and gasped at how off the lines were. It actually saved her from a real mess.

My uncle Ron tried this with a landscape he'd been working on for weeks. Turned it upside down and all the trees looked like they were leaning into a windstorm. I still don't think flipping things helps me much though - my eyes just get confused at the weird angles.
