sticky notes saved my bujo last week

I was in a coffee shop last Tuesday trying to plan out my week for a big work project. My weekly spread was all set up with trackers and a to-do list, but then my toddler got sick and I had to scrap everything. I ended up just writing random notes on sticky notes and shoving them in my journal. It felt like my whole system collapsed because I couldn't adapt fast enough. Do you stick with your original plan no matter what, or do you just let go and use loose notes when life gets messy?

Honestly, have you ever seen someone just absolutely refuse to pivot? I had a buddy who was doing a travel bujo for a road trip across the Southwest. He had this whole color-coded gas station and diner tracker planned out. Then his van broke down in the middle of nowhere, and he just sat there trying to make his sticky notes match his original layout. It was brutal to watch. He was so stuck on his system that he missed the sunset at the Grand Canyon because he was too busy trying to glue a note back into his spread. I swear he drove me nuts that whole trip.

I mean, sometimes you just gotta let the system go and focus on what's actually happening around you. Next time just help him fold that page over and start a fresh note about the canyon.

Threw my whole spread in the trash and started fresh with a single note.
