Switched to a single pen for my entire March setup and it actually made my spreads less stressful.

I forced myself to use only a black 0.5mm Pilot G2 for everything (trackers, weekly log, even a doodle) and the constraint stopped my usual hour of fussing over color coordination, so is limiting your tools a secret to better focus or does it just kill the creative fun?

Read a study saying constraints can boost creativity, not kill it.

Yeah but that study probably used really loose limits. Give someone a truly tight box, like no budget and a crazy deadline, and they just panic. Real creativity needs some room to breathe.

Totally get that! It's like the difference between a gentle nudge and a shove off a cliff. A single pen gives you a helpful fence to play inside, but no budget is just a brick wall. The trick is finding a limit that guides you instead of trapping you.
