Switched my shop from cable to fiber and the upload speed is the whole ballgame
I run a small print shop in Boise and we send big design files back and forth all day. For two years we were on a cable business plan with 35 upload, and clients kept asking why their proofs took 40 minutes to land. My installer buddy kept bugging me about fiber and I finally caved in April. Now we push the same files in about 3 minutes and nobody has called me about a late proof since. Anyone else make the switch and notice the download number barely matters for this kind of work?
Went through the same thing at our photo studio back in 2021. We were stuck on a 20 up plan and clients were losing their minds waiting on raw files, so we moved to fiber with 500 up and it changed everything. Downloads only went from 200 to 300 and nobody noticed, but uploads going from 20 to 500 is what actually saved us. Turns out sending files is the whole job, not pulling them down.
