Can we talk about pocket hole joinery for face frames

I always thought pocket holes were a quick fix for beginners, not real cabinet work. For years I only used mortise and tenon on my face frames, thinking it was the only right way. Then I built a set of kitchen cabinets for a friend on a tight budget and tried a Kreg jig to save time. The frames have held up perfectly for over two years now with no movement. Has anyone else switched to pocket holes for face frames and been surprised by the strength?

Turns out the woodworking police don't actually show up at your shop to check for pocket holes. Who knew? All that time spent looking down on a method that just... works. My mortise and tenon purist phase feels a bit silly now.

Yeah, had the same snobbery about it for a long time. That Kreg jig really does hold up better than you'd expect.

My 2014 Kreg jig still works, @avery_ross.
