My own garage project last year. Measured the cabinet height wrong by a full inch. Had to stare at that expensive plywood scrap for weeks. Felt like a special kind of stupid every single time. Ended up using the piece for shop storage, so it found a home. Still, that first cut is a gut punch.

Oh man, cutting a whole sheet wrong is the worst. I mean, my buddy did that last year on a closet project. He was so mad he just left the piece leaning against his house for like a month. It was this perfect reminder of a dumb mistake every time he pulled in the driveway. He finally used it to make a bunch of shelves for his basement, so it worked out okay. But yeah, that sinking feeling when you realize what you did is just brutal.

So did your buddy measure wrong or just cut on the wrong line? That's the real question. I bet @the_jennifer knows that maple doesn't hide those bad cuts either, right?
