Dropped $310 on a Whiteside router bit set and it saved a whole kitchen job in Boise

Bought the 5 piece Whiteside set about 8 months ago for a cabinet run out in Boise. The upcut spiral flush trim bit cut melamine clean with zero chip out, no tape tricks needed. My old $40 set was tearing out edges so bad I was tossing panels. Anyone running spiral bits over straight flute on prefinished ply, or am I late to this?
