Honestly, overheard a client at the hardware store say 'wood just needs a little love' while picking out the cheapest pine for a built-in. Ngl, it made me think about expectations.

What's wrong with making cheap wood look good?

Sanded it down and used a good stain.

But what does "a little love" even mean? It sounds nice but hides the real work. Is the client ready for all that sanding and finishing?
