Just realized I always used glue blocks for face frames, now I just use pocket screws

I spent years nailing and gluing blocks on every cabinet face frame because that's how my old boss taught me... last month I tried pocket screws on a kitchen job and saved like 2 hours. Which method do you think holds up better over time?

You ever have one of those moments where you realize you've been doing something the hard way for years? I remember when I first switched to pocket screws on a job, I felt like I was cheating or something. But man, the time savings are real, especially when you're doing a whole kitchen. I still glue my joints though, just a dab, because old habits die hard and it makes me feel better about the long-term hold.

It's funny how that works. You get locked into doing something a certain way and it's just... what you do. Like, I used to print out directions from MapQuest and highlight the turns before I left. Even when I got a phone with GPS, I'd still pull up the paper map "just in case." It's the same thing with the glue. You know it's probably overkill, but the old way feels safer somehow. That pocket screw thing is a good example though. Sometimes the "shortcut" is actually the better tool, you just have to get over feeling like you're cutting corners.
