My $500 plunge into a used edge bander from a shop closing sale was the best gamble I've taken this year.
It cut my finishing time in half on a recent kitchen job, so has anyone else found a specific tool that paid for itself way faster than you expected?

Honestly it's wild how often the right tool just changes the game like that. I see it everywhere, not just in the shop. It's like people will fight through a bad process for years because the upfront cost seems high, but that one good buy just flips a switch and saves so much time and stress. Makes you wonder what else you're putting up with that a single solid investment could fix, lol.

Ever try to use a cheap orbital sander for a whole floor? Mine basically caught fire, but it got the job done before it quit for good.

My Harbor Freight sander lasted exactly one deck refinishing project. The motor started smelling like burnt plastic halfway through the second coat of stain. It died a hero, but I had to finish by hand.
