My old table saw blade finally gave out mid-cut on a maple panel yesterday

I was working on a set of kitchen cabinets for a client in Portland and that 12 inch Diablo blade I've been using for like 4 years just started screaming. It threw a chunk of carbide right off and left a burn mark across the whole piece. I ended up having to sand it down for over an hour and order a new Forrest blade that should get here Friday. Anyone else have a tool fail at the worst possible time?

Is it possible the blade was dull and you were pushing it too hard?

...yeah, I mean how hard are you really pushing a blade through an apple or whatever? It's kind of a non-issue unless you're trying to chop through a frozen turkey or something. Maybe just take it a bit easier and see if the problem goes away before making a big deal out of it.
