That week I ruined $800 of walnut plywood...
I had this huge custom kitchen job in Portland last fall. Measured everything three times, laid out my cuts perfect. Then my tablesaw blade started burning the veneer on the second panel. I kept going thinking it would even out. Nope. Had to reorder everything and ate the cost. What's the worst material loss you've taken on a single job?

That $800 hit on walnut plywood is brutal. But here's what I'm curious about with your burn issue - were you running a brand new blade or was it a used one you'd sharpened before? I've found sharpening services can leave a blade with an uneven tooth set that'll wreck veneer worse than a dull blade. Also, what kind of feed rate were you pushing through on those panels?

Oh man, burning the veneer is the worst. I ruined a whole sheet of Baltic birch that way.
