Vent: Chose Blum soft-close over standard hinges for a kitchen job and now I'm going back to fix every door because the adjustment screws stripped out

Went with the cheaper soft-close option instead of the full-overlay ones I usually use on a spec house last month, and now three of them won't stay aligned, has anyone else had these fail after a few months?

Those Blum soft-close hinges with the plastic adjustment cams are notorious for stripping out. Swap the stripped ones for the standard metal adjustment versions, way more durable and they fit the same mounting plate.

Yeah, "plastic adjustment cams" is exactly what caught me too. I had a set of those Blum soft-close hinges in my own bathroom vanity and one of the cams literally snapped in half when I tried to tighten it. I had to drill the whole thing out. It was a Friday afternoon and I was just trying to get the door to stop sagging and instead I spent an hour picking plastic shards out of the bracket. The metal ones are definitely the way to go, I just hate that they don't tell you on the box which ones have the plastic junk.

I used to grab whatever was cheapest too, but that Friday afternoon story changed my mind completely.
