Walked off a job in Portland after a builder refused to square a cabinet box
I was on a custom kitchen install in Portland last spring and the GC told me to just shim the doors instead of checking that the box was square. He said it would save time and the client wouldn't notice. I spent 3 hours squaring it up in the shop anyway before delivery and the doors fit perfect on site. That builder tried to stiff me on the bill but I held my ground and got paid in full. Have you ever had a contractor push you to cut corners on something basic like square boxes?

Depends on the builder really. Sometimes a 3 hour shop fix costs MORE than just living with a slightly imperfect box if the doors close fine. Client satisfaction matters more than perfection on things nobody will ever measure with a level.
