Warning: I thought those cheap magnetic drawer catches from Harbor Freight were junk until they held up for 2 years in my kid's toy chest.

I was convinced they'd fail in a month, but after daily slamming, they're the only thing that hasn't broken, so has anyone found a decent source for similar heavy-duty ones?

Saw a forum post about these exact catches. A guy used them on his heavy garage cabinets for five years. They just don't quit for the price.

That forum post was actually about the older model with the metal lever. The new ones have a plastic tab that's known to snap after a couple years of heavy use. Honestly, it's a real shame they changed the design. I bought a pack last year and two of them broke already. You can still find the old style sometimes, but you have to search for the specific part number.

Guess I should listen to @the_claire and stop overthinking my cabinet hardware.
