Warning: That new drawer slide jig from the big box store is trash

I spend about 30 mins fighting one yesterday before tossing it in the trash. If you gotta adjust anything more than 1/16" the whole thing shifts and your drawer gaps get all jacked up. Has anyone found a jig under $50 that actually holds tight?

Stabbed myself in the thumb with that stupid thing trying to get it to stay put. The clamps feel like they're made of wet spaghetti. I swear the instructions were written by someone who has never actually built a drawer in their life. Ended up just using a speed square and some double sided tape, worked better than that overpriced hunk of plastic. At least my thumb stopped bleeding eventually.

Tbh I think the double sided tape trick is actually a pretty smart workaround, but I gotta say - those instructions aren't as bad as people make them out to be. They're definitely not written by someone who's never built a drawer, the problem is more that they're translated from Japanese or German and nobody bothered to clean up the grammar. The real issue with that clamp is the plastic they used for the jaws, it's way too soft and flexes under pressure. A speed square with some painters tape on the bottom works just as well and costs like $8.
