A customer told me my coax connectors looked like they were put on by a toddler
After she pointed out a 2mm gap on the compression fitting I'd done in a hurry, I started actually checking every single connection with a flashlight before I leave the job, has anyone else had a homeowner catch a tiny thing that made you rethink your whole approach?

Man that 2mm gap thing would bug me too. Once I started looking closer at my own work I couldn't stop, it's like a curse.

Nah I actually kinda like noticing those little things. It's how you level up your game, right? Once you see it you can fix it instead of having it bug you later on a finished piece.

Oh man, I feel that. It's almost like once someone points out one tiny flaw, you start seeing every single imperfection like it's glowing. I had a homeowner years ago mention that a wall plate was slightly crooked - maybe a degree off plumb - and now I carry a little level in my tool pouch just for wall plates. It's humbling but it keeps you honest, I guess. Those small callouts stick with you and make you a better worker in the long run.
