Got burned by a bad ground clamp on a 350 ft run in Portland

Last Tuesday I was hooking up a new drop for a business and used a clamp I'd had in my van for months. Everything tested fine at the tap but my meter read 68 ohms at the box. I chased it for an hour before I swapped the clamp and it dropped to 2. Turns out the teeth on that old clamp were corroded almost smooth. I never checked it because it looked fine on the outside. How often do you guys actually replace your ground clamps? I'm thinking about marking mine with a date from now on.
