Had to eat crow after laughing off my partner's zip tie tip

I always used velcro straps for bundles, figured zip ties were for amateurs. Tried a pack of 100 reusable zip ties on a 14-story apartment job in Phoenix and cut my time by almost 40 minutes. Anybody else stubbornly avoided a simple tool and regretted it?

The "cut my time by almost 40 minutes" part seems like a lot. I mean, were you timing yourself with a stopwatch or just guessing? I've used both velcro and zip ties and sure, zip ties are faster, but 40 minutes on a 14-story job feels like you might be rounding up a bit, you know? Not saying you're wrong, just wondering if it's really that big of a game changer.

Woah, hold up. 40 minutes? That's more than a full lunch break just from zip ties versus velcro. Were you actually clocking it with a timer or is that a rough guess? Because I've done tall buildings and even 15 minutes feels like a huge difference.

Forty minutes adds up quick when you're fighting velcro straps that keep slipping or getting gummed up. Did a 12-story last month and switching to zip ties saved me close to 30 minutes just on setup and takedown alone. Not saying it's for everyone, but if you're wrestling with velcro all day the time loss is real.
