Just realized my method for securing cables in crawl spaces might be outdated

I was on a job last week where I had to run lines under a house. The clips I always use didn't hold well on the damp wood. Now I'm thinking there must be a better way. What do you folks use to keep cables secure in those tricky spots? I'd appreciate any tips.

Ever notice how we all get stuck in our ways like @bell.aaron? Sometimes the old fix just stops working on you.

Honestly, is it bad that I used duct tape for years before learning about proper clips?

Those years with duct tape are a rite of passage. It's pretty common, @bell.aaron, a lot of us took a while to discover the right tool.

That "rite of passage" thing is so true. I see it with people using the wrong cleaner on their countertops and leaving a haze, or trying to hang pictures with the wrong wall anchor for years. We just stick with what we know works okay, even when it's not the best. What's a thing you finally found the right tool for?
